What Is In The "Blessing Pocket"?

By Celine Han - Crossmap On March 29, 2013

When we start the New Year, children made blessing pockets.
They put their own selected blessing in the pocket.
They prayed and picked the blessing from a secret bag.
The blessings were nine Spiritual fruit from Galatians 5.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23.

Children prayed before they picked their fruit.
"Self-Control"- This year we pray that she can control eating not too much candy.
"Faithfulness"- Though we have faith, we sometime doubt love. We truly be faithful for love in this year.
"Gentleness"- When children play together, they sometimes think that physically strong person is superior to the meek one. However, we try to be gentle to others and co-work.
"Peace"- Though we have many other feelings every day, inside of us, we have peace from God all the time.

As a teacher, I was also really amazed children took this blessing seriously more than any other presents before. It gives insights to adults that what kids need are not sweets but true love and faith in them.
Praise what God does in them!!
