Below are five questions for David Phelps and his answers.
Q: When will you be releasing a new solo project?
A: I plan to start working on a new one this year. I've been writing for a while and hope to find the right songs for the project.
Q: Do you pray before each concert, and if so what do you pray for?
A: Yes! We always pray that God will be glorified and that we will remain mindful of those in attendance that need to hear some hope.
Q: Why have you chosen to focus on Gospel music instead of Broadway, classical or other opportunities? Would you consider acting in a Christian movie?
A: I love many types of music but I always felt a call to sing Gospel music. As a kid, I fell in love with the music and the unique connection that happens between me and the audience because of the hope in the music. I think I might like to do some acting. Some opportunities have come up recently that have gotten me thinking about it.
Q: Did you sing at your wedding, and if so what song did you sing?
A: Yes! I sang a ridiculously long song I wrote for Lori. I was bored by the end of it - haven't sung it since.
Q: What's the most important thing you've learned about God during your career?
A: Probably that I still have so much more to learn. Seeing things from His perspective is so important when we are on this journey and sometimes so hard to do.
