Justin Bieber may still have some hope if he is genuinely listening to his pastor.

Judah Smith, the pastor of the 18-year-old pop singer, said that he and Bieber share Scriptures on a regular basis.

"Justin and I share Scriptures on a regular basis and communicate," Smith, who leads The City Church in Kirkland, Wash., told E!

"And I think you find a lot of comfort and clarity in the Scriptures."

Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette is a devout Christian who often voices out her faith in public.

Years ago, the mother and son attended a conference where Smith spoke, and Mallette bought some of his inspirational recordings, which put young Justin to sleep.

"So I went up there, and come to find out him and his mom had been to a conference years ago," Smith said, recaling his encounter with Mallette.

"And she got some of my tapes, literally tapes not CDs, and would play them as he was going to sleep."

When Smith first met Bieber, "one of the first things Justin said was, 'Do you remember meeting me?'" the pastor recalls.

"And I said, 'Well, I don't.' He said, 'Well, you'd put me to sleep at night.'"

The Canadian teen heartthrob recently endorsed Smith's new book "Jesus Is."

While Bieber has become increasingly notorious for his erratic behaviors including illegal tattooing, smoking pots, speeding tickets and threatening his neighbor, the "Baby" singer is holding fast to his faith in God and believes that there is a purpose God has for his life.

"I think that's part of the reason I'm here," the teen heartthrob told Teen Vogue in a recent interview.

"Not just because I'm talented, but because God had a purpose for me to just help people," Bieber said.

"I'm spiritual... although I slept in church yesterday. I haven't been to church in so long, and I planned on going, and I slept in. I was upset. It's all good. God forgives me,"
