LG Nexus 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S4 Spec Comparison; Release Date Confirmed For October? Featuring Android 4.4 Kit Kat
LG Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 Kit Kat is the latest rumored device to churn in the rumor mill. Now that Samsung and Apple have confirm their most anticipated releases, it up to Nexus 5 to keep fans guessing on when the next device will see its release date. Samsung Galaxy S4 is the current reigning smartphone king, but consumers wonder how the Nexus 5 will challenge that.
LG Nexus 5 is expected to be rivals of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, and the HTC One. The release date has been iffy as many anticipate an October/November release date. A report from PC Advisor suggest that perhaps a fall release date is most likely considering the fact that Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus, and Nexus S were released between a similar time frame in the past.
Android 4.4 Kit Kat is expected debut with the Nexus 5. It is not uncommon for Google to release new devices with an updated OS. The Nexus 5 price is expected to stay the same as the Nexus 4-- $385.36 for the 8GB model and $465 for the 16GB model.
Rumored specs for the Nexus 5 include a Full HD screen display with either 5.0-inches or 5.2-inches. It will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor at 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM. It is also rumored to have a camera made by Nikon.
The much-coveted Samsung Galaxy S4 broke records as one of Samsung's fastest selling devices. The moderate 5.0-inch screen display comes as Super AMOLED HD with 1920x1080 resolution, 441 ppi. Galaxy S4 is pretty light and thin at 7.9 mm and 130 grams. However, it runs on Exynos 5410 Octa 1.6GHz, Quad-core Cortex-A15, and Quad-cord Cortex A7. Like the LG G2, is carries 2GB of RAM, but up to 64GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for up to 64GB more.
The camera for the Galaxy S4 is very similar to the LG G2, but instead includes 1080p at 30fps. This device runs on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and is currently available in stores.
