Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren was in Rwanda this week reviewing the progress of the P.E.A.C.E. Plan in 4,000 churches. He said he took off for the trip on Tuesday, August 27, and has since then felt consolation in his life and struggles after his son Matthew's suicide.
Pastor Rick Warren posted two of the trip pictures on his facebook, and quoted Proverbs 15:13 "A glad heart makes a happy face."
During a training session named Peace Plan in Kigali on August 27, Pastor Rick Warren said that "the prayer meeting has a purpose in my life and I feel consoled pray, share with Rwandans and thank God for having managed to go through the difficult times after the death of my son"
The PEACE Plan is a massive effort to mobilize Christians around the world to address what Pastor Rick calls the "five global giants" of spiritual emptiness, corrupt leadership, poverty, disease, and illiteracy by promoting reconciliation, equipping servant leaders, assisting the poor, caring for the sick, and educating the next generation.
