The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair Movie Updates: Douglas Greshams Talks About This Plans for the 4th Narnia Movie

By Steff

'The Chronicles of Narnia' has total of 7 books, which is why it's a wonder why it seems like the movie stopped at the 3rd book, but recently Walden Media announced that they are already working on creating the 4th movie under the 'The Chronicles of the Narnia' franchise and this time it'll be the 'The Silver Chair' which was originally published on 1953.

Here's the latest on 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair' release date, news, and updates.

It's been 5 years since we last saw 'The Chronicles of Narnia' in the silver screen, all the original cast have now grown up and have moved on to other roles, after the dwindling down of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' franchise in the cinema, we never really thought that there'll be another installment to the franchise.

According to Narnia Web, The first 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' made a total of $745 million back in 2005, the second installment 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' made total of $420 million back in 2008, and the third installment, 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" made a total of $415 million back in 2010.

The first two movies were under Walt Disney and Walden Media, however the third leg of the installment was between 20th Century Fox and Walden Media.

Overall the Chronicles of Narnia franchise made a total of $1.5 billion in the box office, which is not really that bad.

So far make 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair' is being developed by 'The Mark Gordon Company', 'eOne', and 'CS Lewis Estate'. There's some intense debate skipping the 4th book of the franchise which is make 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Magician's Nephew' however the move to skip the 4th leg of the installment is due to the fact that 'The Chronicles of Narnia' movie adaptations have sparked some criticisms from Christians and Atheists alike.

Atheists are saying that 'The Chronicles of Narnia' is a Christian propaganda, whilst Christian critics are saying that make 'The Chronicles of Narnia' franchise is blasphemous. In return the decision to choose make 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair' was due to the fact that 'Silver Chair' doesn't contain much religious themes.

Recently Gresham told Wordsmith Media that he's going stick closer to the novel, being a 'Narnia purist' himself. He added, "The problem I suppose is that I'm too much of a Narnia Purist. I see any changes as being almost being sacrilegious. So of course I have to argue with everybody else on the team and we usually come to a fine compromise somewhere along the way."

These have been for me a wonderful experience in many ways, full of difficulties sometimes, things you have to overcome, but we fight on and overcome them. It was a great joy making the first one. And the second one I think is a very good movie. And the third one was a bit of a trial, for me, anyway. The problem I suppose is that I'm too much of a Narnia Purist. I see any changes as being almost being sacrilegious. So of course I have to argue with everybody else on the team and we usually come to a fine compromise somewhere along the way.

The next Narnia movie we are making a slightly different way. We are sort of doing it as an independent production using a production partnership with another company. We have got some wonderful people doing it. We are going to try to do this ourselves and do it the way we all believe it should be done. And we'll see what happens.

One of the problems with the film industry is that in actual fact nobody really knows how to make a successful movie. People know how to make good movies, but funnily enough good movies often aren't successful. Sometimes rubbish movies take the world by storm. So none of us really know the sort of secret recipe of getting it absolutely right every time and the greatest producers make flops. Well I'm nowhere near in that kind of league so I'm going to try to not make any flops.

'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair' is pegged to hit the theaters on 2016.
