Encouraging Word With Nick – Fridge Cleaning (December 31, 2013) – Nick Vujicic
By Manuel Campos
Nick Vujicic gave his New Year Eve encouragement on his radio podcast on his site lifewithoutlimbs.org.
Below is a transcript of his encouraging words for the New Year.
"Hi I'm Nick Vujicic at lifewithoutlimbs.org.
Well think about it. New Year's Eve is the perfect time to go through your refrigerator and toss everything that's past its expiration date. Chinese take-out from July? Toss it! A half-empty jar of sauerkraut? Trash. Milk now turned to cottage cheese? Throw it out!
Reach out to the back of the inner recesses of that fridge and get rid of the suspicious containers and smelly cartons. Do it now! Get your icebox ready for the New Year and fresh food.
You know all of us need a little spiritual fridge cleaning from time to time. So let me ask you, is their anything in your life that needs to be tossed away? Maybe it's a bad habit that's been taking up space in your heart. It could be thoughts and opinions you have held on too for years and they are starting to rot. Maybe it's something someone else said last month
Get rid of it! Those feelings of forgiveness and anger or discontentment, that are festering inside you I get it, I know some of us have that right now.
Now listen to what Hebrews 12:1 tells us to do. Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with perseverance the race marked off for us. Let's get a jump on the New Year by first throwing away the smelly stuff that doesn't belong in our heart and lets run into the new year freer and cleaner than faster ever before."
