Jeremy Lin Chatted With Military Heroes From Across the Nation Via Google+ Hangout
In this second #heroeshangout, Jeremy Lin chatted with military heroes from across the nation via Google+ Hangout. In February 2012, it was hard to turn on the TV without hearing about Jeremy Lin, who rose from NBA anonymity to the cover of Sports Illustrated in just two short years. "Linsanity," as the cultural phenomenon surrounding Lin was nothing short of magic to fans, coaches and players alike.
"I haven't done a computation, but it's fair to say that no player has created the interest and the frenzy in this short period of time, in any sport, that I'm aware of like Jeremy Lin has," said NBA Commissioner David Stern.
While the "Linsanity" has cooled off a bit since then, he's led a solid career with the Houston Rockets, starting all 82 games in the 2012-13 season and holding the team together with a rock-solid .339 three-point percentage. Since 1985, only 15 players have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row. That list includes Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, Chris Paul - and Jeremy Lin.
