Charity Navigator Awards 4-Star Rating to Fellowship of Christian Athletes For Seventh Straight Year
KANSAS CITY - For the seventh consecutive year, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has earned a coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation's premier charity evaluator, for its sound fiscal responsibility and commitment to accountability and transparency.
"We are proud to announce Fellowship of Christian Athletes has earned our seventh consecutive 4-star rating," Charity Navigator president and CEO Ken Berger wrote in a letter to FCA president and CEO Les Steckel. "Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way."
Just two percent of charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least seven consecutive 4-star evaluations, Berger noted in the letter.
"This 'exceptional' designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Fellowship of Christian Athletes from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust," Berger wrote.
Steckel said the rating exhibits FCA's commitment to serve the donors who supply the ministry's financial needs.
"God has put it in the hearts of our donors to support the Fellowship of Christian Athletes," said Steckel. "It is our responsibility to ensure that we are serving as proper stewards of their investment, and I believe achieving Charity Navigator's top rating for seven consecutive years demonstrates our commitment to that responsibility."
