Doctor Strange Updates: Speculated Role of Rachel McAdams
Doctor Strange is about to be released this coming November 4, however until now we still don't know the role of Rachel McAdams.
It's great to see photos of Benedict Cumberbatch running around New York as Doctor Strange, after we've waited for more than a year. And now this coming April 12, we'll be seeing the official trailer of 'Doctor Strange' on Jimmy Kimmel Live. There's one mystery still yet to be solved when it comes to Doctor Strange; the character that Rachel Adams will play.
This coming week, we'll seeing characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe visit ABC's Jimmel Kimmel Live in anticipation for the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil Wars.
This coming Monday, April 11th, Team Captain America will visit the show including actors like; Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and Paul Rudd.
Then on April 12th, Tuesday, Benedict Cumberbatch will come to show us the official trailer of 'Doctor Strange' alongside, Clark Gregg or Agents of SHIELD.
Then on April 13th; Team Iron Man will visit including actors like; Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Emily Van Camp, Chadwick Boseman, and Paul Bettany.
Now when it comes to the mystery of Rachel Adams' character, it was quite obvious that Kevin Feige is quite careful in divulging any spoilers for the upcoming 'Doctor Strange'-although he talks about it a lot, maybe it's that good-but he just gives fans enough to entice them without the need to give out any spoilers.
According to Kevin Feige, the role of Rachel McAdams is quite big in the upcoming 'Doctor Strange', and is really close to 'Doctor Strange' (Benedict Cumberbatch).
Rachel McAdams will be play a surgeon who works with Stephen Strange, and the character is key in keeping Stephen Strange grounded. Additionally, it was revealed that McAdam's role is close to Strange's old life.
Instagram post below:
Kevin Feige said, "She is someone he connects with at the beginning, and reconnects with, and helps anchor his humanity".
Additionally Stephen Broussard (Executive Producer) also expounded on the character that will be played by Rachel McAdams saying that her character, "provides an audience point of view".
And of course Benedict Cumberbatch also said that the character of Rachel McAdams will mean more to Strange than just a colleague. The actor added, "I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what the interest is. But if I hit on her more than the Ancient One, put it like that."
On Rachel McAdams opinion, she says that everyone involved in the project really made her feel eager to join the cast of 'Doctor Strange'. From the moment she met Scott Derrickson (Director of Doctor Strange), she already saw the passion in the director, and it's contagious. She also added that working with Benedict Cumberbat was also an advantage.
"And Marvel makes amazing films, so it was a complete package."
In my opinion, the role of Rachel McAdams will be Dr. Gina Atwater. If you've seen the animated movie of Doctor Strange back in 2007, Dr. Gina Atwater was actually Stephen Strange's ex before his sister died-which has caused him to act heartless and angry.
Needless to say, I can sense that the upcoming 'Doctor Strange' will be an origin story.
'Doctor Strange' is set to premiere on November 4, 2016.
