The stars of "Duck Dynasty," the Robertson family will make an appearance at the 87th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade later this month.
The reality show sensations will be among the celebrities appearing at the annual event in New York City. They'll join Ariana Grande, Jimmy Fallon and the Roots, Florida Georgia Line, Cirque du Soliel and several other acts on the famous parade floats.
Macy's says more than 8,000 people will participate in the event, and 3.5 million are expected to watch from the sidelines. That doesn't count the millions more who watch it on TV.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, whose motto is "A Holiday Treat for Children Everywhere," was first held in 1924 and was made up of only about a dozen different attractions. This year's spectacle will include, among other things, 30 floats, 11 marching bands, 1,600 dancers and cheerleaders, 900 clowns, 15 character balloons and, of course, Santa Clause.
This year, Snoopy and Woodstock will be among the balloons, as well as Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon."
The first hour of the 9 a.m.-to-noon telecast will feature Carrie Underwood and members of the cast of NBC's "The Sound of Music Live!" Following tradition, the Radio City Rockettes will perform, and cast members of Broadway musicals will sing selections from "Matilda," "Motown: The Musical" and other shows.
"For millions of families each year, Thanksgiving Day isn't complete without tuning in to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," Doug Vaughan, executive vice president of special programs and late night for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to once again broadcast this national celebration to kick off the holiday season."
The parade doesn't commence until Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. ET
