Fast and Furious 8: Helen Mirren Gets Her Wish to Be Added to Furious Franchise
By Yumi Redfield
Fast and Furious 8 is in the very early stages of pre-production, only having recently announced the director for the upcoming film. With barely any details on what we could expect in the upcoming Fast and Furious franchise, the next best thing we could do is speculate on the names that might be added in the film.
It goes without saying that Vin Diesel will be reprising his role as Dominic Toreto in the upcoming Fast & Furious 8. For a while now, Vin Diesel has been the unofficial spokesperson for the Fast and Furious 8 franchise, so it will be very surprising – if not crazy – for the Fast and Furious 8 to continue without Vin Diesel.
Other characters from the Toretto crew who will be reprising their roles are Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz-Toretto), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges (Tej Parker), Lucas Black (Sean Boswell) and, of course, Dwayne Johnson as the Diplomatic Security Thread, Luke Hobbs.
Jason Statham, who played the almost indestructible Deckard Shaw, along with Kurt Russell who plays the enigmatic Mr. Nobody, will also be returning to the franchise.
There have been quite a lot of names that have been linked to the upcoming Fast & Furious 8.
Angelina Jolie. Might as well add her on the wish list because it seems that this is all it will ever be, a wish. If the roots of the rumor is dug, it started from an innocent question wherein Michelle Rodriguez was asked who she wanted to see added in the film.
Dame Helen Mirren. You know your star power when you mention that you want to be part of a franchise in passing and everyone can’t stop talking about it. Better yet, even the producers in the franchise suddenly become interested.
In an interview with MTV, Vin Diesel confirmed that yes, they’re interested in getting Dame Helen Mirren for Fast and Furious 8.
Fast and Furious 8 is scheduled to be released April 15, 2017.
