Lucifer Season 2: Tricia Helfer on Being the Mother of Lucifer

By Jeff Villanueva

Her looks can be deceiving - young and beautiful - yet she's the Mother of Angels. And Tricia Helfer, who was casted on FOX TV series Lucifer, as the Charlotte, the Mother of Angels, told TVLine.com that her newest role is "going to have its challenges."

"I heard it put, 'She's not really that much older [than Lucifer and Amenadiel].' But it will all make sense once you see it," Helfer added.

Yes, she definitely doesn't look much older than Tom Ellis, who plays the title role, and D. B. Woodside, who plays as Amenadiel, Lucifer's brother.

Helfer is very cautious to give away spoilers about her role when FOX TV series Lucifer returns for its Season 2, but for the benefit of the show's fans who wants to know something about the Mother of Angels, the 42-year old Canadian model and actress shared, "Once you meet her, you realize what she's about and who she is. So we're not going to leave people guessing. There's been enough of that with the concern that she's escaped from Hell."

She added, "There are a lot of layers to her. She's going to be fun to play."

Who is Charlotte, the Mother of Angels?

Last week, the question of who is the Mother of Angels, was finally given some hints. As posted on TVLine.com,

"Trapped in Hell for thousands of years by God (her ex-husband), the Mother of Angels is now free on Earth. Once reunited with Lucifer, it will become clear that she's the one he takes after. Mom is fearless and has a strong conviction for who she is and what she deserves. However, mother and son do not share the same opinion when it comes to humanity. Everything that fascinates Lucifer about people repels Mom - a disdain that's highlighted by that fact that Mom's trapped in a human body for her stay on Earth. Lucifer's desperate to find out what Mom's up to, but she claims that all she wants is to spend time with her sons again. But can the devil's mom really be that innocent?"

Well, Charlotte may be the Mother of the Devil, but isn't she also the Mother of Angels? But why tease about her innocence? Did she do something unforgivable?

We'll find the answer when Lucifer returns for its Season 2, September 19th.
