Red Dead Redemption 2 Release Date, News, and Updates: A Red Dead Redemption Set In Japan for the Following Red Dead Redemption 2?

By Princess Love

There are tons of zombie games around, but what makes Red Dead Redemption capture the attention of the audiences back in 2010 was its old western feel and its great storyline. Needless to say the game relies on its Old American feel, so now that news that the setting of the game is going to be in Japan, some of the fans of the game are a bit unsure as to how this will pan out.

Here's the latest on Red Dead Redemption 2 release date, news, and updates.

We know that Red Dead Redemption's storyline revolves around John Marston, however there are news that Red Dead Redemption 2 will revolve around Yojimbo.

If you are not familiar with Yojimbo, it is 1961 movie in Japan which revolves around the story of a ronin (ronins are masterless samurais). In a way Yojimbo's storyline is a bit similar to that of John Marston.

Yojimbo was directed by Akira Kurosawa and it one of those classic Japanese movies that is still well known today in Japan, decades after its first release.

Now, I think Yojimbo's storyline is great, and I think the Japanese culture would be a great backdrop to any games. However, being Red Dead Redemption, fans of the game are going to expect that Ole' Western settings to the game. Despite John Marston's timeline and Yojimbo's timeline being just 30 years apart, I think it would be a big risk for Rockstar should they decide to go with it.

There's still no release date for Red Dead Redemption 2 but we cannot expect it this year, as Rockstar announced that they would rather focus on improving the game play experience for the user for the existing Red Dead Redemption which includes better game controls.
