By Yumi Redfield
In just a few weeks, the last 2 DLCs for Super Smash Bros. 4 will finally be released. The last 2 DLC for Super Smash Bros. 4 are the characters Bayonetta from Bayonetta and Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates.
After the release of the last DLCs for Super Smash Bros. 4, Creator and Game Director Masahiro Sakurai will be taking a much needed vacation. In his message in the Famitsu magazine (translated by Source Gaming) Sakurai revealed the work he had to put in for Super Smash Bros. 4 and teased about upcoming projects, stating, “I’ve been developing the DLC characters for Smash for 3DS/ Wii U. I’ve been very thorough when making these characters, so I needed a lot of time. I haven’t been able to take a vacation since starting this project, but it’s almost over! I want to enjoy every day like it’s a Sunday. However, that doesn’t mean my next job hasn’t been decided already. So it’s less like I’m taking a break, and more like I’m taking a breather for a moment.”
This is actually not surprising as Masahiro Sakurai have spoken about taking a break or a vacation since 2014. Even then, Sakurai has spoken about how invested he was in the games that he was creating, which then was Super Smash Bros. 4 – that it has taken a toll on his health.
Sadly, other than stating that he already had another project that he would soon be tackling after his much needed rest and relaxation, Sakurai did not reveal anything about the upcoming project although fans are hoping that it will another Super Smash Bros. project. If the 2014 interview is a hint, though, Super Smash Bros. 4 just might be the last installment in the series since Sakurai claims, that he does not see himself working on another installment of Super Smash Bros. 4.
